The Stars continue to play well. So far in August the Stars are 12-6 and could be there best month...In June the Stars went 17-10...

1B Gary Knowles has been on fire..Knowles playing in his first full season has finally arrived... In August so far Knowles is hitting .407 7 homers and has 22 RBI'S...Last week The Valencia first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers, pounding them for a .464 average (13-28) with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs as he took home the Johnson League Player of the Week Award... Knowles best game was against Des Moines Kernels as Knowles hits 2 home runs , going 4-4 with 7 RBI and 4 runs scored. So far this year Knowles is batting .306 with 19 home runs, 66 RBIs and 56 runs scored.

Vet outfielder Al Jones still has some pop left in his game...Jones hits 2 home runs against the Birmingham Bandits, going 3-4 with 6 RBI and 2 runs scored last week...Jones 39 years old is hitting .239 14 homers and 49 RBI'S...Jones a possible HOFer has 2693 hits and is 7 away from 2700...

So far this season SP Mark Beadle has been the biggest pitching surprise this season...Beadle the Stars number 5 starter is 13-5 4.38 ERA which is great from a number 5 starter...Beadle last 10 starts he has won 8 of them...The most games Beadle has won was 8 last season and he had a 8-8 record...

Seems like a stretch to say Al Jones is a possible Hall of Famer. He belongs in the Hall of Very Good.
