Committing to rebuilding in 1998;

Want to move one of corner outfielders George Peralta or Joe Belinda (or both); both have big contracts; Peralta $10.4 mill each for '98, '99, and '00, Belinda $7.4 mill for for '98 and '99 each. But both are great hitters.

Want to move corner infielders 3B Cory Gehringer, $7.5 mill for '98 and '99; and young hitting stud, 1B Larry Wilkes, 300k, some ways from arbitration.

Looking to move starter Amos Walker, too.

My system is bare! Looking for prospects. I favor guys that can field. Obviously, I'm looking to extract something substantially more in a deal for Wilkes then I am for Gehringer.

Looking to swap manager James Buck - great manager, but I want/need a change up top; just looking for someone comparable...

Giving away utility infielder Bret Barberie...superfluous to my needs...but a great fielding backup/utility infielder...two star potential reliever takes him away...
