I remember in '09 I was praying to every deity in humanity's religious lexicon that RAJ would sign Beltre, but he decided to go cheap with Polanco to put the difference towards giving Ryan Howard one of (if not THE) worst contracts in sports history.

I mean... even I couldn't have predicted his offensive surge out of nowhere at age 30 (PEDs, anyone?), but before that he was a consistent 4 WAR player at a position of need. Polanco provided 2.3 WAR total over the next 2 seasons with the Phillies.

I've enjoyed his years in Rangers red. Or wait. Is it blue? I wish they'd make their minds up. :)

Well, Beltre is awesome. Those plays at third are reminiscent of Buddy Bell, maybe the best 3b fielder the Rangers had....
