Re: Madison/California
This is like the worst freaking trade I've ever seen. How does this even make sense? Cali's even taking on salary.

Re: Madison/California
Kilkenny's making $15 million this year AND next year. That's more than the rest of Foodie's entire contract.

Re: Madison/California
I have the space and my team won't be very good for 2 to 3 years. by then Foodie is 30 and probably wants rediculous moolah. In all the trades i made today i brought back up and coming youth and almost every single position. and Kilkenny is off the books by the time i need to resign anyone anyway. Did i get fully value? No. Its impossible to get full value for an ace. Did i better my team this year? No. In 3 years? Big Time.

Re: Madison/California
Except, what's the imperative to deal him at all? And in what universe is it not possible to get full value for an ace starter? You're as much admitting that you lost this trade already with that statement.
And you're dealing him to Madison, who has this huge farm, and the best guy you got was a 23 year old underdeveloped bad-fielding slow outfielder. I mean, if you're gonna give him massive cap flexibility ($7 million dollars!) AND Foodie, isn't that worth a LOT more?
I don't get this deal at all, seriously, no idea, but if it stands you lost it big time.

I'm not actually arguing with you, mon frere. I'm really just trying to be nice. I'm not even sure you can drag this one backwards. I just have a penchant for equitable trades, and this just isn't one.
