It's been a good September for the 'Shiners thus far. The team racked up 14 wins in September with 9 losses.
That may not be great to others, but it's an improvement from last month's record nonetheless (10 wins, 15 losses in August).
After announcing his retirement last week, Sirius Black has been hitting the ball well. He has 28 hits in 84 at bats (.333, .915 OPS), 5 home runs with 21 RBIs in the month of September.
Also in the news, Mack Milholm has been terrific after signing his extension with Greeneville last week. He won 2 games out of 6 GS, with an ERA of 3.98 in 43 innings pitched.
Last but not the least, Armando Santos finally got his 2000th hit against Louisville. And oh by the way, to reach the milestone, Santos went 4-4, 3 RBIs, including a double, and two home runs.
It can't get any better than that.
"It's good to finally get it. The closer you get to 2000, the harder it is to get there. Now the pressure is off and I can go back to just playing ball." Santos told reporters.
As far as career numbers Santos has compiled a .314 batting average and collected 2001 hits, 230 home runs and 914 RBIs.
Looks like the 'Shiners are in the verge of finishing the season strong.
There's a lot things to look forward to next season, including rumors about the team getting a new logo/uniform for next season.
