GM Hopkins is rumoured to have taken to heavy drinking, and is seen very little around Locust Grove.
But at least the fans are still coming in droves; eager to watch their young slick fielding team; a team that possesses no pitching, and couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat.
Sluggers? Perhaps, not an apt nickname, they probably should be called ‘excellent little girls softball team’.
Starter of the month

When the next lowest starter’s ERA is 5.70 for the month, it takes a little shine off of winning the award of starter of the month. Mr. Allen Izzat walks away with the award again, with a stunning 3-1 record, enroute to compiling a 3.03 ERA over 32.2 innings across 5 starts.
Reliever of the month

Hector Molina was a bright spot in June, appearing in 12 contests and adding 17 innings to the Sluggers cause. The right-hander limited opponents to a .143 BAVG enroute to a 2.65 ERA. He even won a game against no losses.
Batter of the month

Young designated hitter, Salvador Howard sprung to life in June. He clubbed 5 home-runs, and compiled a respectable .360/.424/.596/1.020 hash-line over 89 at-bats. He also stole 5 bases and drove in 19 runs.
Rookie of the month

Ugghh….uber rookie sensation, Chris Thomas, started to show his greenness in June, with a .257/.288/.410/.698 tag-line. At least the youngster still stole ten bases and played a flawless left-field.
