your help needed for this season's All-Star Game
your help needed for this season's All-Star Game
I have two ideas about this season's ASG broadcast. both involve YOUR HELP. We basically know who the starting rosters will be, based on the voting. and once Jeff and Ed (or recte44, of they do not) announce 30-man rosters, or actually before they do, what help I need is this:
broadcasting a game (solo) is easy, and this is easy for me. broadcasting in tandem would be more interesting, and help preserve my voice. Those are the two ideas. Either way, the help needed is this (for which you will receive a minimum of 2 PPs per player):
for a much more interesting broadcast, I or we, need background reports, or summaries, if each player. This can be notes that include the following: (think of the basic info you hear about each player in a MLB broadcast)
1. what the guy has done this year, and how that has affected his team.
2. notes about recent news about the player, streaks, injuries, trades, and the like
3. notes about career summary of the player, any previous ASG selections, postseason appearances, career figures, milestones, milestones, contract,
4 player interest stories, on field or off (keep it simple, no need for outrageous stories)
5 do NOT include what the player does in the actual 2008 ASG
SEE THE THREAD HERE.
sure I could compile this for each player (l try to, when I do HAW broadcasts, but I have solicited this information on the past from opposing GMs), but I am not willing to do it for the ASG players, as there are too many players to research, and they all play for different teams, and each player's background will be unique. As their GM, you can much easier supply said notes than I can research all them (which I don't have time to do).
so here is the scoop: I will do a broadcast of the game (not live, but *live* to me, in that I will do it without knowing the results beforehand), and can try to do it in tandem with a volunteer. Probably it could be done simply by a skype call.
however, if you want your player highlighted, you will need to post game notes on him or them. 2 to 3 PPs per player, depending on the quality of info provided . Should not be an extensive article about the guy, just notes that include the above. Think of what you hear about a player as he comes to bat (or to the mound) in a MLB broadcast.
I am posting notes for one of my players in the league features forum. Once I do, post all such notes as replies to that entry. Post any question about the process, or notes, as replies to this entry.
Like. I said, we already know the starting players and pretty much the pitchers (top 5 starters and relievers in votes), so this can be done NOW
outline or list format (not article format). and yes, links necessary. wait for my sample post.

your help needed for this season's All-Star Game
This sound pretty cool. Looking forward to checking it out. If u need a hand with some player write ups let me know. Ill do my best although it would probably be better if the gms that own the player to do them. But if any of you gms are busy let me know ill help out
Re: your help needed for this season's All-Star Game
Would be happy to have your participation. Let's wait till at least Sunday 10 pm CST, before folks write up players other than their own (which would, naturally include you).jpoppe0219 wrote:This sound pretty cool. BUT I am grateful for your interest. I hope it is mirrored by current GMs. Or even Tim Imasa.

Re: your help needed for this season's All-Star Game
Every team will have at least one player on the 30 man ASG roster for each league.
(Assuming the person who chooses the non-starting player roster does it correctly; and if not, if recte44 checks them over.)
This "include every team" is something I lobbied hard for, when I was a newer GM...

Oh, cool. When do we find out what that roster is? I have to assume that Luna will be the one pity entrant for the Barnstormers to the 30 man, but before I write his info up for you I'd rather it be confirmed.Al-Hoot wrote:Every team will have at least one player on the 30 man ASG roster for each league.

Recte usually picks the non-starting rosters if the league champion GMs don't get him one.

I'd be all over this if I had a team.Al-Hoot wrote:Would be happy to have your participation. I've suffered various maladies, family issues, and other interruptions since mid December, including awful allergies that have been worse than usual this winter. These, and other things, have curtailed my recording projects, both here and elsewhere.
These entries will count as Team News if the project can't be completed in due time.

you know...if you're feeling better, and have less issues now; there's no reason we couldn't immortalise the deciding game of the championship series, instead...or too.
