Reports out of Long Beach are that the entire coaching staff of the Long Beach Surfers has been sent to the hospital with a case of What the fuck were you thinking? "It's nothing serious" said the local resident at the Long Beach Psychiatric Ward. "We should be able to cure this mild case of WTFWYT (What the fuck were you thinking) and the staff should be back in the dugout managing games in no time."

General Manager Chris Wilson, who first called the Psych Ward, commented on the status of his staff.

"I first noticed a problem as soon as the 3rd game of the season" said Wilson. "I was even more concerned on Sunday when I noticed a real problem. When symptoms arose again on Wednesday, I knew something was up."

It appears as though the main symptom of WTFWYT is using the same starting pitcher four times in eight games. Which is exactly what Surfers manager Bugaloo Polinski did with Hi Brown. Brown started opening day, on the 1st of April. He then started again on the 4th, 7th, and 10th of April.

"It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense" said Wilson. "I assume it was a misunderstanding of sorts between myself and Polinksi. I instructed Polinski to use Brown as often as possible. I assumed that meant he would use him every 5th day, opposed to every 5th game. We want to use Brown in every game in which he is 100% rested. There is no way he was a full strength in 2 or 3 of those starts. Hopefully taking a few days off from the club will help clear Polinski's head. As for the rest of the coaching staff, they too are admitted for treatment for not questioning Polinski's methods."

GM Chris Wilson will manage the team over the next 10 days while the coaching staff undergoes treatment. All indications suggest that 10 days should be enough to treat WTFWYT.

Ha ... Brown clearly was not impressed getting the ball that often. Not one quality start from the star starter!
