I guess we did something right...we took last year's closer, George Fagg, who saved 32 games as a rookie, and slotted him into the rotation. He is joined there by Icon, who is coming back from his injury plagued 1995. That adds a couple of arms to our rotation that should improve things over last year. The net result was an 8-2 start to the season, on the backs of strong starts from Lee and Logan. Taking over the closer role was Gumdrop, who was a 10 game winner as a rookie last season, but is now a converted closer. We'll see how he does.
We have a real star in Scott Cooper. If you combine his AAA and MBBA stats from last season, he had 200 hits, 60 doubles, and 110 RBI. He put himself in the top-10 in a bunch of categories in only 122 games last season, and is off to such a hot start, we wonder if he's potentially an MVP candidate. He seems to have a real knack for getting on base, and has become the anchor in this lineup.
Jake Urban seems to be putting the final touches on his development in the power department, though he's still way more comfortable hitting lefties than righties. That will perhaps limit his top end, a bit, but we think he'll be a great up the middle power threat in the MBBA this season. He already has 3 HR, nearly equaling last season's total already.
We are really excited about the start of the season; our FA moves were geared towards pushing this team into title contention, and I think the stars might actually be lined up for the Shiners. Great front line starter + a burgeoning young offense = wins!

Clearly things are messed up.lynchy34 wrote:Ron actually has a good team in a league? Man, this league is broken!
I think my last few teams in the MBBA that got wiped out when we backtracked were pretty solid, too. I had things moving in the right direction.

You've got some very nice young pieces. I'm sure you'll screw it up somehow.
