Player Develpment Exp.

Post by jkloes1 » Tue Jun 05, 2012 11:32 pm

I've noticed this under financials. Player Development Exp. every year it seems to be 0. or maybe it's just my team. But if it is there, shouldnt there be a way to tweak this, and if so, does it even help? Is it based on the owner? is it a GM thing?

Just curious,

Matt? any help here?

It's disabled for our league.

ah.. then why does it show up in team financials, but not as a default in the OOTP tutorial?

Tutorial?

The reason is shows up is because OOTP just coded it that way. There are quite a few places, especially around financials, where they could have put in code to hide a field if it's disabled but instead they just show it as zero or blank. Even in league settings there isn't a place to check/uncheck "Enable Player Development Spending"...you just set the cap to $0 and they are disabled. Given they run a lean ship and the engine is the core of the game, there are many "little" things like this that are just the way they are until they spare time to implement it differently (some of them going all the way back to version 6 even though v10 was a huge "rewrite").
