Very much belated and heartfelt thanks for the Caleca Award. It truly is an honor. Sinking myself into the world of the Chicago Black Sox, and the larger world of Brewsters, is such an indulgence for me: a way to think of fandom, of what a sports team could mean to a small variety of people (collectors, fantasy baseball players, aunts, burgeoning fans, long-suffering fans, a sports radio lifer, siblings of baseball pros). To share these thoughts with a sincere audience is a privilege. The BBA is a jewel and there's many fascinating ways to look at it - beyond win / loss, beyond hoarding SPs, parsing out HRA and PBABIP, SP->RP conversions. Will Hsung and his aunt, Timofei Gadomsky and his sister, my failed experiment with fantasy (Brewster's Hold 'em) will eventually make their return in the Black Sox TN. Thanks again!
