2063.3 Brownie Bites IFA aquasistions

Post by handaspencer » Thu May 22, 2025 1:31 pm

One of the areas of focus this offseason for the Brownies was to acquire multiple IFA to strengthen the international complex. Our game plan early was to cast a wide net but stay disciplined on each offer. We have made big offers in the past during our OOTP career with a few hits but probably more misses to be honest on going big in IFA. Brook Park was active early in IFA offers but got outbid by other organizations so the hope to aquire 4+ IFA did not materialize. We started to send some of our extra cash to other clubs to improve the active roster and we decided to stay relatively flat in IFA this year.

We might be done in the IFA market this offseason with money left on the table. Early on we were targeting specific type of players that others was also targeting and that pool quickly dried up. We shifted our focus to finding some hitters and we are happy with who we aquired. Brook Park was able to sign DH Kaliq Kamil for $1,706,250 for the 16 year old. We see some potential in his bat and at this age a lot can change. Teams are always looking for bats so we are excited to add him

Brook Park was also able to add 3B/DH Hilal Kasim who is a 17 year old prospect. There is some things we like about his bat and with some hard work he might be able to play the infield at some point. We are excited for the group of bats we brought in and we are going to get to work on them and get them in our development programs. One of the areas we would like to strengthen in our organization is to have a steady supply of IFA that we can promote each year into our minor league system. We are excited for the 2 guys we was able to add and we look forward to seeing them in Brook Park several years down the road.
