Two Minor Leaguers Dealt
March 7, 2063 - Catalina Island: The Bikini Krill boosted their depth in the middle infield today, sending minor league relievers Ernesto Morales and Manny Rivera to Rosenblatt to acquire second baseman Agatone Louganis. Louganis saw 640 PA in 2062, hitting three homers and posting a .704 OPS, but was thought to have been somewhat difficult in the clubhouse.

Louganis To Fill
Infield GapsManager Kate Fiscus was ebullient with the news, however.
"I always like a guy who's a little feisty," she said. "From everything I see, Agatone looks like he's a guy with soft hands out there, and as long as he can handle the tough ones, he can perform for me."
Louganis is 25 years old, and has two more pre-arbitration seasons remaining. The club expects he will handle a super-sub/utility role. "He's got good plate discipline, and we absolutely needed someone who can step in for either Napoleon Mellott or Keith Williams," said GM Ron Collins from his executive suite at the Klub's Catalina Island spring facility.
Winning Spring Bodes Well For Future?

Lavergne Appears
HealthySince the Krill traditionally use the opening games to sort through prospects, they don't tend to win many games in February and early March. The Klub, however, has come out gunning and stand at 7-3 after ten games. Top performers include DH Al Schumann, who has belted three homers to date, and a pair of Felix's (Felix Moreno [2063 plan = AAA] and Felix Caraballo [2062 plan = AA]). Likewise AA starting pitcher Jacky Lavergne has made the team breathe a sigh of relief as he's returned from bone chip surgery to post an impressive seven innings in two starts.
Normally spring records don't really mean anything, but some in the organization are hopeful that these early performances say something about the quality of the organization's depth.
"I like getting these guys into camp," Fiscus said. "We're all putting in a lot of work on and off the field, and I'm seeing a lot of progress up and down the staff, so I'm hoping for big things at all levels this year."
Williams Struggles With Spasms
About the only real concern so far this spring is news that 22-year-old rotation candidate Nelson Williams has been experiencing back spasms, and as a precaution has been shifted back in the rotation.
"He could pitch through it," said pitching coach Fernando Alaniz," but I don't see any reason to push things in March."
