Jean Maurel latest injury
Brings Injury Total to 9 for March/April
Cullison to start rehab; Sims, Reyes to rejoin team "shortly"

Jean Maurel
Before Hawaii's best middle reliever, Jean Maurel, got hurt on April 23 for
approximately 3 months, the Hawaii DL/Injury list looked thus:
The Spring Training injury to Liao clouded the season. Things got worse when full timers
Reyes, Ramos, and Sims got hurt. Cullison, also a full timer, will start a rehab at Triple-A,
while Sims and Carter will rejoin the team on May 1 and Reyes a week later--just in time for a
three-game set against the weakest link Chicago Black Stockings. Aastrom may be the
odd-man out in an increasingly crowded outfield. Wave watchers are debating which injury, to
Liao or to Ramos, will have the most negative impact on the team this season.
Matt Davis should not be forgotten; one of the most reliable relievers last year, he will miss
all of 2005. His replacement, the Frenchman Maurel, pitched great until joining almost a full
line up of players on the injury list.
