With the 5th overall selection in the 2062 Amateur Draft the San Antonio Outlaws selected 1B Anthony Corfield.

Corfield is a fairly developed 18 year old prospect that spent one year in the International Finishing Consortium with the Central America Conquistadors. The Conquistadors are the reigning 2 time champions and Corfield lead the team with a .396 average and was third on the team with 14 homers and 42 RBI’s in 39 games. He projects as a power hitting infielder with great contact who won’t strike out a lot. He is above average defensively and can play multiple positions. Sources that are familiar with the organization mentioned that the team will move him to second base and likely have him concentrate on developing his defense there in hopes that he is a replacement option for incumbent second baseman Lou Tinter after the 2063 season.
Overall the Outlaws grabbed a fairly developed prospect that will be easy to sign and provide long term value either at 1st or 2nd depending on his advancement in the field.
