Ignacio 'Fiery' Ramos
April Fool's: Ramos out for year.
Lf/1b Ignacio "Fiery" Ramos was lost for the season when he suffered a torn—
"GD it to H, F--k these torn labrums," Al Hoot was overheard talking to team
trainer Tian Xin. "First, Liao, now Ramos? I freaking give up!"
—a torn labrum when Ramos caught a fly out by California's Oh, Jr in the fourth
game of the season.
Ramos, Al Hoot's first ever Number 1 draft pick, is known for his exceptional work
ethic and has no known injury history. The 25-y.o. celebrated his birthday on
Opening Day (April 1), led the team in batting average and OBP when he was
injured 4 days later.
Ramos, from Bogota, Columbia, had been making great strides in development
and been guaranteed a full time starting job in left field for 2005.
"Rammy's one of my favorites," said team spokesperson Stitch Lilo, "considering
he isn't a howlie and all."

Ramos joins Hawaii's top player, Liao Kuan, on the DL. Liao suffered a torn labrum
in spring training and is expected to be out 3-4 months.
"We had every reason to expect Ignacio to have a banner season," said new CEO
Charlie Hough. "The kid has developed into a great batter with tons of patience at
the plate."
Hawaii was counting on Ramos to be the offensive catalyst while Liao was hung up.
Al Chavez was considering him for the clean up spot.
"Scratch that plan," Lilo said.

Michael Duran
Michael Duran leads the JL and MBBA with 20 strike outs after blanking 11 Vancouver
Mounties in 5 innings on Opening Day and striking out 9 Crusaders in 8.1 innings six
days later. Duran lost both starts.
