Favorite/Most Hated Player?
So I am still a GBC GM and have little experience in this league. It's fictional so I have a lot of lore to catch up on. For those of you who've been here since the start or even if you joined a few seasons ago, who is your favorite player in the league all-time? They do not have to necessarily be an all time great or your best guy, sometimes it can just be a one trick pony, a glue guy, or just some random in the league with a funny name. On the contrary, who is your most hated player? Maybe just a guy that has whooped your ass in the playoffs, the one bozo that always sells when it matters, the mega bust prospect, or even just a player's ratings profile that drives you crazy.
When you spend a lot of real life years in a single OOTP online league, you are bound to enjoy some guys and completely loathe others. It's just another natural process of becoming a degenerate for fake baseball.

I'll have to think about this a bit. There are literally too many to count.

Re: Favorite/Most Hated Player?
As far as Crawdads go - Tipper Kengos and Rogelio Morales...Juan Donéstevez may be on that list too...but he is still active. Honorable Mention: Yancy Cravat. Jared Gillstrom is an interesting case - He is known more for non-new orleans play, but he is from New Orleans, played a season here, and was our manager for a while.
Non-Crawdads...Big soft spot for Manuel Aguilar. Also, Charles Puckett and Mike Swanson.
Most hated in New Orleans - Resurrection Santos because of how much money i threw at him and how much he sucked while he was here. Pepper Brooks because im pretty sure he is 89 years old and would still strikeout at about the same rate as when he was 26. And I tend to hate the REALLY stupid names (which i cant think of a good example at the moment), and even some of the lesser stupid names i.e. Gunga Oogolagunga, Larry Barkin).
And, of course, Al Hoot.

Re: Favorite/Most Hated Player?
Easy. One guy is both my favorite and least favorite —
Joe Lacy
I drafted him in the first round of my first draft. I wanted him to be so good. I cheered for him. Kept bringing him back to my organization despite always being terrible.
I loved him, and he broke my heart.
Would do it all again. Five stars.

Re: Favorite/Most Hated Player?
Favorite Players:
Charles Puckett, Bopper Kengos, Bolt Vanderhugen, Jon Mick, Jessie Wright... just to name a few Wolves. For my Portland guys, Ken Sparks is probably my favorite Lumberjack I suppose. I never did, but I always wanted to get a shirsy made with either Puckett or Kengos on the back in a Madison uniform look and wear it around or to MLB games just to see how people would react.
Least Favorite:
Doug Newhouse, Robbie Sargent, Jason Egan.... Basically any player that has ever donned a Vancouver Mounties uniform for an extended period of time.

Re: Favorite/Most Hated Player?
For guys in my org, some of my favorites:
Hall of Famer Carlos Gonzales, wish I could take credit for drafting him but he's one of the best hitters I've had for a long time.
Jimmy Greenwood - Not quite a Hall of Famer but one of the best control pitchers ever in the BBA. Was a player I coveted when I entered the league, was able to trade for him and he had a great career for me.
Pedro Gonzales - Lost 21 games in 32 starts in 2027, was just an absolute workhorse in the second to last season in Tucson where we lost 111 games.
These days it's Rhys Atticus and Steveland Morris

In terms of favorite, Tony Frost probably holds that title for me, though Reynaldo Serrano, Davenport Hinkle and Phil Cole are all easily up there as well.

Re: Favorite/Most Hated Player?
Great idea for a topic! I've been here only three seasons and it took me one full season to get acquainted with my team, another to get acquainted with my division, and, well, I am still there. Took me a year to flesh out the value of ratings. I don't like Mynorli 'Old Man' Gaajlimitz because he's so damn good. Not a fan of Bane 'G.O.A.T.' McCoy because he was in and out of intensive care for me but no so much after I traded him. Love my young sluggers Matsunaga and Perez, and the vet Parreno.

Re: Favorite/Most Hated Player?
Favorite player is a tough one. My top 3 are Tony Franco, Hector Cano and Larry Stinson. My most hated is Chris Coll. The guy could have gone done as one of the all time greats. I took over the team in 2004 and the guy lumped. 2005 was it and he was gone. Always wonder what he would look like if he played another 5-6 seasons.

There might be a few posts coming...
Juan Arevalo - fun LHB platoon guy I dug up from AA.
Carlos Garcia - Moody, but fast CF who could hit a little. I wrote a true-pro short story about him.
Jose Chavez - Just a fun pitcher. Lefty. I saw him as tough as nails.

Re: Favorite/Most Hated Player?
Several guys on my current team might be in the running for favorite, but I keep coming back to Gary Goodchild, the very first player I drafted after starting out here with Jerusalem. A tall, skinny British knuckleballer who zipped through the minor leagues and was the ace of my staff with the Hebrew Hammers. It didn't end well for Gary, but that's okay.
Easily the most hated is Phil Cole, who pitched like crap for me in El Paso, got traded for cents on the dollar, and instantly became the stud his ratings indicated he'd be after he got out of the El Paso launching pad.
