2056-9 1st Round Pick

Post by Knucklehead254 » Thu Sep 07, 2023 12:25 am

It's that time of the year again where teams future hopes are renewed with the BBA Draft. This year the Vancouver Mounties selected 14th overall, let's take a look at the report of who the Mounties selected.

Image
2B REYNALDO SERRANO
Hometown: Hoover, Alabama, USA
DOB: 03/22/2035
Age: 21
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 195lbs
Bats: L
Throws: R
College Team: Staples Staples

College stats: 133 GP, .371 AVG, 27 HR, 104 RBI, 50 BB, 90 K

Pros:
- One of the more BBA ready players in the Draft
- Was an All-Star all three years in college
- Should be good at making consistent contact with the ball.
- Great Range for a Second Basemen
- Can potentially play Outfield as well, real swiss army knife
- Can avoid strikeouts decently
- Great, but not elite speed on the field and base paths

Cons:
- Won't draw many walks, it's swing baby swing
- Average fielding for a second basemen
- Recently recovered from Shoulder Inflammation
- Doesn't have as high a ceiling as other draftees
- Will want a decent bonus to commit

Accolades:
3X All-Star (2054, 2055, 2056)
1X All-Star MVP (2056)
1X MVP (2055)
3X Platinum Stick Award (CF 2054, 2B 2055, 2056)

GM Notes: Should help us with our lackluster infield depth, feel he could potentially make an impact as soon as September Call-Ups.

BBA Equivalent: Jason Newton

I liked him better for the outfield. Never got into the game to see if his injury rating is normal or fragile? I actually think his ceiling is a strength, not a weakness. One of the higher upside players in the draft.

He's Normal on the injury rating. And I agree but I know there were some first rounders taken after him with higher potential. I may move him to the Outfield as well we will see.
