Tsao was born in Taiwan and spent much of his time in the museum his father ran as curator. He developed a fantastic eye for fine art at a young age and helped his father moving heavy artifacts throughout the museum. Baseball scouts believe his eye and strength can translate to baseball, so Yellow Springs signed him to their international complex in 2054. Less than two years later he would start ascending up the top prospects list and reached #1 status in 2059, despite being, arguably, the top prospect well before then. The youngster has all the tools in the world, but does he have the ability?

The soon to be 23-year-old has immense talent, but he hasn't quite put it all together yet, which begs the question: will Tsao ever fully develop? Probably not, but the youngster could still prove valuable as his outfield defense is good enough to keep him in CF, especially after an outstanding performance in the development lab to improve his defense. That helped raise the floor of the #1 prospect because he will always be valuable off the bench with that sort of defense. Tsao was the obvious headliner of the bin Nawaf trade, despite him probably not being the most coveted piece of the trade. His low minor stats showed signs of struggle, alas he was moved up to Single A by Yellow Springs in 2059 and faltered heavily with an OPS of .677. He's not particularly quick on his feet, so his bat really needs to come along quickly, as he is already on the 40 man roster and time is ticking. He will begin the season in Double A to see if the improved competition can spark an increase in his abilities, but should be better suited for another run at Single A before facing tougher challenges. Very intriguing prospect if he can put it all together, but he will likely never reach his power and eye potential. But what if....he has to be #1.

Ugh, you can already tell he's got the Nashville rub on him. Offense filling out. Check. Defensive bump makes him a legit CF. Check. He'll be the best player in the BBA by the all star break 2062.

He’s holding his own in AA. Hoping for some major development this season, but he’s got a loooong way to go before reaching 80. The gamble in dev lab really paid off because now he’s got a much better chance sticking around as at least a4th OF. Anything else is just gravy after that.

I still have no idea what that young man is going to do. .237 at AA doesn't feel like enough to hit his weight at BBA level. But this is Nashville so we'll see.

I’d like him in Single A, but at his age I really need him to go all or nothing at AA.

Ha. Not any time soon. Tsao isn't realistically my #1 prospect, but for the lists' sake, he had to be at the top.

I would be doing the same if he were with me. I think the game has him insanely overrated. He's not going to be a Hall of Fame player. His ceiling is 2 time All Star, his floor is AAAA. My guess is 4/5th OF at this point unless he really picks it up soon.

Tsao was the throw in. That's how low of an opinion I had. Cramer is the cream of that trade.

His AVK developed a bit last sim. Hoping he began a super intense offseason regimen already. Long way to go. Little time left.

There is a very strong vibe that young guys are just not developing these days. I'm hoping I'm just being sensationalistic.

Are we just not going to have any good players in 10 years or is the development going somewhere else like already developed players? Pepe Aragon didn't get the memo, for example.

Well...it's a system, of course. There's an element of self correction in it--and I suppose also that everything you can say about development is wrong at some level. Obviously, some players are developing, for example, so my hyperbolics there are just that.

It's a game, you know? :)

I think it will wind up fine. The challenge for me is to have fun with both the results and the meta.

I think the latest patch addressed younger players development IIRC.

Theoretically. We'll see how much. It's good to know there was some thought applied, but having done detailed testing on development back in the day, I've come to a "I'll believe it when I see it," general position.

I do expect Tsao to grow, but it's getting late enough that there's valid skepticism.

Despite losing eye potential, Tsao's current eye increased. Still, not the #1 prospect we hoped. He'll be 24 this year, so still some hope that he pans out to be a 4th OF, but he's got a lot of work to improve.
