Change a name of one draft pick

Post by shoeless.db » Tue Aug 06, 2024 4:51 pm

Custom ammys are fun but take a lot of time on Recte’s end. To increase immersion, teams should have the option to change the name of one of their draft picks each season. It’s fun. Harmless. And it’s fun. Oh, and it’s harmless. And not a lot of work.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

I hate it because it will make StatsPlus incorrect.

The names would change after the draft is complete. Would that still leave stats+ a mess? It shouldn’t matter at that point.

Yes, it does matter.

Keep the Custom Ammys

With all the contention lately, I was trying to come up with something fun and (what I thought was easy). Didn’t mean to add to it.

It's a nice thought, just not doable in keeping draft logs and StatsPlus matching.

I’m not trying to be a thorn here. I just really feel this would be a great immersion piece for us. We rarely end up with our own custom ammys, so this would be great to build storylines with our teams (drafting brothers, sons of famous retired guys, etc)

Would you be open to trying to change the name of the absolute worst player in the draft pool and see what happens?

I really think this could be fun for everyone, but especially the guys who really build a personality with their teams.

Update from research — as long as the name is changed before the draft is completed, the history is correct with the name change.

Please stop me if you just don’t want to do it. Then the application of it doesn’t matter. Haha

What about all the history with their amateur careers?
