Of course, I’m not voting for Ramon Pagan, and Pagan finished with 614 HR and 494 SB while using up 11,563 AB. Kinda the same player, right?

But no. Not right. Pagan finished up with 41 WAR, while Ramirez tallied 93. Over twice as valuable. What’s the difference? Slugging, yes, and more important, defense. Ramirez flashed the glove to the tune of three Zimmers. He also pulled a Gilstrom. And then there’s the 12 All-Star appearances.

It is, after all, the Hall of FAME, right.

Ramirez is a slam dunk over-shadowed only by Thum’s appearance on the ballot.
