Galaxy Gas 2059.40 – Prospect Report Card – Altair Tableriou

With the minor league season completed, it is time to assess some of the Valencia top prospects.

Today’s edition will evaluate right fielder Altair Tableriou. The 24 year old was signed as a minor league free agent almost 7 years ago. This past season he played for the AA Jamestown club where is hit .295 with a .347 on-base percentage. Altair added 22 homers and 69 RBI to his stat line resulting in a WAR of 2.1.

On the defensive side of the ledger A.T. showed off his arm as he gunned down 29 baserunners as they tried to advance the extra base. He has shown that he can commit the occasional error making 6 miscues in 268 chances resulting in a Fielding percentage of .978. Altair has a zone rating of -8.4 which tends to agree that his range in right field is the middle of the road at best.

Altair continue to show the scouts that he has some untapped potential with a 60 overall rating although he is currently sitting at 35. His contact rating of 4 will most likely be the issue as he advances but hopefully he can still develop that a notch.

When asked about what he felt about this past season Altair replied, "I have been working my way through the farm system over the last seven years. This is the first year that I have felt good about how the long ball is coming off of the bat."

Altair is slated to be with the AAA farm club next season. His 2059 grade is a B.
