Manager Does Not Weather the Storm
October 28, 2056Amid a tumultous wave of chaos surrounding the team, new Seattle GM Ron Collins released a quiet statement that indicated manager Doug Clément would not be retained for next season. Clément had been with the squad for the past five years, none of them particularly invigorating. Given the team's financial statements, some insiders pondered if his $1.5M contract had anything to do with the action, but Collins did not indicate any particular financial impact as an issue.
Instead, Collins's statement read like one of those it's not you, it's me kind of things. Regardless, the result is not particularly surprising. "Doug is a fine person and a hard worker, but it wasn't working out. With is contract expiring, I thought it best we part ways so we can both focus on the future." The manger wasn't available for comment at the time of this writing, but ends his stint with the team having never won more than 75 games, and with a cellar-winning performance in 2056.
The club apparently has a shortlist of candidates, and will begin interviewing shortly.
"It's a major priority," Collins told the STORMY WEATHER podcast shortly after dropping the release notice. "Along with all the other major priorities."

In addition to the manager, Dakila Pacheco, the team's assistant GM, has apparently been told his expiring contract would not be renewed, suggeting that the club may be in line for a complete overhaul.
