"The book has the traditional bets as well as some new prop bets for this season" said BBA Gambling expert Kent Musburger. "The book has already capitalized a little on the First Homerun Prop bets here in Vegas and out in Jacksonville as some small bets came in there that had no winners at all, so the books are off to a good start. The sportsbook is also pretty hopeful that it has set some good odds on teams this year that'll hopefully help the book over the bettors. It was no secret that bettors were all over the inflated Edmonton odds last year and the book got hammered on their Landis win a year ago. Clearly the book didn't want to make that mistake again and put both them and the Nine as the pre-season favorites to win it all at 4/1. It'll be interesting to see if the betting market can find this year's Edmonton mixed in the Landis odds."
As for the over and unders, Musburger commented "the book and those in charge of previewing the season really seem to be in sync this season. Bettors looking for the team that is clearly mis-labeled this season will be challenged to find it. Last year, bettors hit the Las Vegas over and it hurt the book. Granted the book really hit it with Boise when people thought the book had screwed that prediction up and all the bettors lost. Clearly the sportsbook is hoping the market thinks there is a team labled wrong there that brings in a bunch of losing money for the public.
The real interesting portion to the early money coming in appears to be on the Prop bets and booster bets in 2046. With a few new props on the board for 2046, bettors are going wild over them. "The props are where the early action is for sure" added Musburger. "The market is getting big eyed over some long odd props and hoping to strike it rich. Clearly the book is hoping those are sucker bets that land the book some free money back in bets, but if those long odd props hit, then look out for the book. Its those single season leaderboard props that are getting some early play. Can someone other than the names listed win the title and net a +15000 odd bet? The book clearly hopes not."
As we head to sim #2, only the bets for 1st homerun in Vegas and Jacksonville have closed. The book stated the only other bet that could close after this next sim is the 1st place bets for Portland, El Paso, Jacksvonille, and Des Moines. If any of those take the 1st place spot this sim, the bet will close. Bettors looking for a quick win could possibly jump on that bet. Granted none of those 4 teams are over .500 after the first sim so it could be another sucker bet the book hopes to lure some money back in on.
Attached below are all the betting sheets. Get those bets in and help the Sportsbook get some money back!
