Rule 5 Draft Sim is Sunday 8pm Central- instructions!
Rule 5 Draft held pre-sim tomorrow night. PM me your draft lists/instructions. You must have open 40 man roster slots in order to draft. Not every player who shows as available will be available, as teams can still add guys to their 40 man roster in their pre-sim export.
Any questions? Let's have 'em.

Re: Rule 5 Draft Sim is Sunday 8pm Central- instructions!
I really wish we had more than 24 hours to compile Rule V draft lists. Given that it comes in the midst of negotiating with free agents and deciding on 40-man roster spots, I could use an extra day of real life time to give appropriate attention to this matter. That it comes on the weekend is bad, because I do have a family to spend time with. And there is really no realistic way to develop a "strategy" for Rule V picks until the possible pool is published

Well, there are usually only a small handful of players worth taking in the Rule V draft.

This! Most of the guys you may want to take now, will get protected in the exports tonight.aaronweiner wrote:Well, there are usually only a small handful of players worth taking in the Rule V draft.

Re: Rule 5 Draft Sim is Sunday 8pm Central- instructions!
Maybe to to you guys, but not necessarily to others. I took five Rule V draftees last year, and kept 3 of them (I should have kept a fourth one which I mistakenly released as a newbie). So it is more crucial to some teams than others.aaronweiner wrote:Well, there are usually only a small handful of players worth taking in the Rule V draft.
And decisions over Rule V, chasing free agents, and deciding on 40-man roster spots (and who to drop off the 40-man roster to prepare spaces for both free agents and Rule V draftees), is a crucial in team development.
It is much more crucial than setting line ups for the post season, for example. This only effects a shirt term outcome.
What I am talking about can effect an organization, and the shape it wants to take, for several seasons.

I am just requesting slowing down by a day. How does hurt those who don't need a one-day delay?

oh lord. Let's get it done already. It's not like the list is flush with 4 or 5-star guys in the early 20s.

How about 2 extra hours?
Maybe I can lock the kids in the basement and throw them some scraps.

Re: Rule 5 Draft Sim is Sunday 8pm Central- instructions!
Perhaps because your team is stacked with talent, the Rule V draft is not that critical to you.
And it probably helps that you have played OOTP a lot longer than I have.
Again, two hours extra seems a huge reduction of the original one day I was asking for.

...and of course not being the one who sims, it's easy fo you to not take other people's lives and schedules in to consideration.
BUt, then again, as long as YOU are not inconvenienced, it's alright, yes?

Our off-season runs too long and people complain. Our off-season is too short and people complain. Our off-season sims contain too many days and people complain.
Let's just get'r done and get goign on the season itself.

I do not believe that you have to make a sarcastic post that "borders" on a personal attack.LambeauLeap wrote:...and of course not being the one who sims, it's easy fo you to not take other people's lives and schedules in to consideration.

I simply made a request.
I took five last season. You?bschr682 wrote:im just sayin... we have 27 man rosters. Just how many rule 5 guys do you intend to select?

And I kept 3 all season. i should have kept four but dropped one by mistake.
Anyway, I am just asking for more time. I am not trying to inconvenience anyone.

..and for the record, there was nothing close to apersonal attack. If I had said "Your mom wears comfortable shoes and you're a d-bag" then you'd be able to call that. BUt changing a schedule so one person can have extra time for something that takes most everyone else (even n00bs) 20-30 minutes is selfish. Lke you, I call things as I see 'em.Al-Hoot wrote:I do not believe that you have to make a sarcastic post that "borders" on a personal attack.LambeauLeap wrote:...and of course not being the one who sims, it's easy fo you to not take other people's lives and schedules in to consideration.

Re: Rule 5 Draft Sim is Sunday 8pm Central- instructions!
I took three guys, and I kept them all year: Paul Kindel, Sidney Moulds and Mike Nichols. Moulds and Nichols will start this year at AAA DC, and Kindel I extended despite a bad year because my fan interest is so crappy.
And I may have the record for the best Rule V pick EVER...
But it only takes a few minutes to punch out a Rule V draft list. Half an hour tops.
