Not sure if he'll make it without a bit of a boost, but CLG's SP Jefferson Pierce is having a helluva year on a losing team.

I see we still have a hardcore Huber dissenter among our midst.
"No" for Nebraska? Okay, I get it.
"No" for Egan? Hmmm...
"No" for All-Star? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR BLEEPIN' MIND?!

Re: 2042, All-Star Voting Chatter
I doubt its an actual dissenter. Its someone who just sorts by a single column (saves) and votes to just get it over with. I understand why votes for things are mandatory but this is what happens when you tell people to do something they don't want to do.

Re: 2042, All-Star Voting Chatter
i mean, there is also someone who didnt vote for dan cannon (and it doesnt look like marko has voted so it wasnt him), so there are some crazy people in this league.

Re: 2042, All-Star Voting Chatter
I came close but then decided to vote for Pagan in LF instead of Bourges since Pagan is in the 30/30 club with a .308 average at All-Star break. Seems like a dissenting vote though. Easy to understand people picking Bourges with the difference in defense.

Re: 2042, All-Star Voting Chatter
I will preface this by saying I voted for Huber; but as a relative newbie to BBA, for relievers, I sort by saves, then do another sort by ERA and then another sort by WAR and try to connect the dots. For the longer-time owners, it probably seems crazy to not have him as a unanimous pick due to the long history of him being a force (11 consecutive seasons under 3.00 ERA). On the other hand, I never look at history when submitting this ballot so it is not quite a crazy to think there were 1 or 2 votes otherwise.

Re: 2042, All-Star Voting Chatter
What was your rationale for Allende over Wareham? Offensively, outside of Batting average, Wareham has been far better than Allende in almost every category. SLG / OPS / HR / RBI / RUNS / WALKS (lol..). Now admittedly, Wareham is a little scary at SS defensively, but he's been playing pretty decent there this season.
Not a big deal either way. I actually think Angel Zapala is more competitive for the SS spot than Allende. Wareham is on pace to have his best season since 2036 (his last Gold Bat before Zapala took over as the Frick League best SS).

Re: 2042, All-Star Voting Chatter
It was honestly pretty close to me for these two. The key reason I did vote Allende over Wareham is because of the defense Wareham provides at SS. -2 ZR with a .962 eff at SS obviously isn't great. The stats offensively were close enough to each other than I went with the best defender. I also think Allende could look better if he would stop getting caught stealing bases so often.

I tried not to sucked into the WAR/WRC+ hole, but it was a strong pull.

Seeing as some have disclosed their ballots, and the UMEBA hasn't gotten its just due for attention, I wrote a feature today about my Burt League All-Star ballot.
