SOX FIRST BASEMAN SCOTT STUNS MBWBA WORLD
In a stunning development Black Sox First baseman Charlie Scott has been named Johnson league player of the week. The first Sox player to be so honoured since dinosaurs roamed the earth, Scott was in fine form hitting two homers and averaging .444. Indeed since his acquisition from Greenville he has been one of the few bright spots in Chicago’s season. There were scenes of wild celebration in Chicago as impromptu POTW parties broke out all over the city. Scott himself was not available for comment having been called in for a drugs test by incredulous MBWBA commissioners. However GM Brown who collected Scott’s award on his player’s behalf had this to say “ I’m sorry I was late but when we received the call we thought it was some kind of joke. Hawaii GM Al-Hoot is always calling up with some bullshit story and I just figured he was behind this one too. I still keep expecting him to jump out and yell we’ve been Punk’d.”
Brown then punched the air in triumph before leaving arm in arm with renowned Sox fan News anchor Veronica Corningstone.
