2002 MBBA All-Star Voting

I do not care how (other) fans vote for catchers when voting for the all-star games. And i am also not arguing. I am stating my position.

For me, if i were to vote for a catcher for an all-star game, I would consider his overall qualities, not just his batting abilities. For instance, and I speak as a Rangers fan, I wouldn't just vote for Napoli because of his offense (he has improved on defense, but I haven't seen his defensive figures).

I would vote on which catcher I think would do best in the all-star game, and that would not just be a factor of hitting. It would most definitely include ability to throw out runners. I like seeing great baseball in an all-star game, which would include great DEFENSE and great catching ABILITY.

But I have also stated more than once that a catcher should be able to drive in runs, which is an offense ability. THAT is more important than batting average and leading in various batting categories other than RBIs.

I understand Al. I am not arguing either. Just debating our positions on the subject. There is no right or wrong here. I certainly respect your opinion even if I don't agree with it.

Could be. On that subject, this whole Diagnosis Pending thing kinds sucks when we are dealing with sims that last 10 days.
