For the second time in a week, the San Antonio Outlaws have gotten one of their building blocks to agree to an extension. GM Calvaruso and 3B Lucio Cuellar have put pen to paper for a 3 yr, $16m deal and making sure that the corners of the Infield are set for the foreseeable future.
The 22 yr old 3B has become a Top of the Order monster for the Outlaws, something that they had been lacking for many years before now. Cuellar had a breakout year in 2039, his first as a full time player, batting .305 with 100 Runs, 63 RBI's and a robust 64 SB's. A slight step back in 2040, a mirror of the whole team, had him hit .280 with 90 Runs, 40 RBI's and 57 SB's. The youngster from Maracaibo Venezuela has also taken on a leadership role with the club.
The Outlaws also have 3B Alfredo Rosas knocking on the door from AAA Austin which has the management excited about the future of this club.
