Keeping things relevant in Portland as the 2039 season winds down, Lumberjacks owner David Wallace along with new team GM Chris Wilson made an announcement today in Wisconsin for the new Double-A affiliate for the Portland farm system. With Wilson winding down his final games as GM with Madison, Wallace made the trip to Madison for the special announcement of the club's Double-A squad.

"Well it was a two-fold trip" said Wallace at the meeting held from inside the press area at Shotz Field. "For one Wilson has to tie a bow on his final games and months under contract plus our double-a affiliate will be located here in the state of Wisconsin. In fact, our double-a squad will play their games about an hour and half north of here in East Troy, Wisconsin. The team will be called the Alpine Valley Snow Creatures."

Wolves General Manger Chris Wilson and future Lumberjacks GM didn't hold back in his comments over this new team.

"I guess the state of Wisconsin can be excited for some good baseball to be coming to the state. It's been a while since they've seen any."

With the Wolves currently with 83 losses, the club will have their 2nd consecutive losing season and 3rd season in the last 4. Wilson deflected any blame for that.

"It's not my fault. I built an unflawed team that just didn't perform. Now guys are faking injured just to get out of playing. They're weak in body and in mind. It feels refreshing knowing that a fresh start can be achieved here in just a few weeks when I head to Portland. And who knows, perhaps I can find a player or two from this current Madison team to take with me."

Wallace and Wilson then posed for pictures in with the team's new jersey and logo.
