Wow, actually sitting with 4 players I still liked quite a bit. Went high risk/high reward with the Russian Rocket. Teenage pitcher who relies upon his changeup means there's probably a better than 50% chance he doesn't make it; but a lefty teenager could also bump up his velocity a bit and make those fastball and slider ratings jump up with it.

You got the last guy I really liked. So many DH's. There are some arms I'm happy to take and a bat or tow left, but I think the elite talent is gone now.

Good thing I double checked. Two guys I wanted there were impossible signs for me. Best should move through the system fairly quick.

I never remember to look at sign-ability. Best was 2 on my list of guys left. He was safer. I decided to try and hit a home run though. Come on Chirs, don't take my guy.

Super happy to get José 'El Guapo' Zúñiga at 11. The thing that sold me on him was that his contact, power, and eye all lumped by one over the past few months. That means one of two things....

1. He sucks and is going to lump into nothing in no time fast.(probably this)
2. He's a "bouncer" and those three stats are at the tippy top of that level right now.

So in actuality maybe he is just a tiny hair that rhymes with bunt away from being 9/8/10/6/7. He is also +1/+1/+1/0/0 against RHP. So to continue my nonsense logic, he is going to peak out at 10/9/11/6/7 vs RHP. I know the star system is out of whack, but he is one of only 3 five star players in this draft. Maybe that is a clue. He's probably only a DH, but I don't care. I've been avoiding DH's for the past 5-6 drafts. I need a cleanup hitter.

In an utterly shocking development, California took a pitcher in round 1. Come on Gus, let's see you throwing 96-98 with 10 stuff in a few years.

I'm happy with the talent level still available, but it's hard to distinguish between them.

O'Brien was my top choice, but "Impossible" for me to sign. If he signs with Stu I'll probably just have to quit. :violin:

If you have the cash, you can sometimes still sign 'impossible' players.

I was about this close to taking Best (or Daniel), but decided to throw the dice on the riskier prospect.

Yeah, I just didn't feel like risking it. Though I guess I should have, since worst case I'd get a comp pick next year.

I was really high on Sergei but I couldn't pass on Tommy Cochran. He may be difficult to sign but I'm willing to risk it.

I kept looking at him too. High on my board, but his speed (or lack thereof) held me back.

I know Diesel Dave is an autopick, but as a catcher I was fairly high on the guy.

I wanted O'brien too. And I do have a ton of cash so I probably could of gotten it done. Oh well. Happy with Best.

I liked Diesel Dave too.

You gotta like the power and actual ability to play catcher, but 2 eye and 3 avoid K? yeesh

I think at the up the middle positions, you can deal with the faults that come with his strengths. That's how I view it, anyway.
