2034.01 - CCJ 2033 Awards

Despite not winning the division and getting bounced in the first round by New Orleans, the Jimmies had multiple awards won this year. We will highlight them here.

*Carlton Winson
-JL Sawyer Silk Sliver Slugger Trophy
-JL Charles Puckett Golden Bat Award at 3B

Winson was fantastic after coming over in an early season trade with Phoenix. He lead the Johnson League in SLG (.667), OPS (1.082), WAR (8.2), RC/27 (10.34), ISO (.367), HR's (59), and RBI's (141) while being among the league leaders in other categories. Whether it was an old school baseball stat or a new age sabermetric, he was one of the best players in baseball.

*Alfredo Salazar
-2033 BBA JL Charles Puckett Golden Bat Award at LF

Before his injury, he had the best OPS (.962) as a Jimmie and was on pace to have another under the radar great season. He just missed hitting 30 HR's for the 4th time since being signed and was among the league leaders with a .420 OBP. While he can still play defense, he may see some more time DH'ing next year to give him some more rest here and there to keep him healthy all year. While Winson was the MVP, the team really went downhill when his presence in the middle of the lineup was taken away.

*Wilmot Schlondorff
-BBA JL Jason Egan Reliever Award

Wilmot once again led the league in saves, amassing 43. Pitching in 82 games, he picked up over 100 innings for the first time in his career. While he led the league with his 43 saves, it was a surprise to see him nab the award. There were a couple more arms, to at least this writer, who probably had a better case. None the less, Schlondorff has turned into on of the better late game RP's in the league and this award just adds to that notion.
