The Wanderer hits Twin Cities (2030-9)

Post by Fat Nige » Tue Apr 04, 2017 11:05 am

After another season and a bit in Indy the wanderlust overtook GM Laverick and when the Twin Cities job came up he just couldn’t stop himself applying for it.
“I thought Indy might be finally be the team to settle down with but it really was a hard struggle over the back end of 2029 & 2030. I found my attention wandering during the slog although with a kick up the arse and a few moves Grasshoppers finally passed the 2029 wins’ totals and actually won two Batters of the week trophies, the first in my tenure. All of that is in my past now, I am fully committed to Twin Cities and hope to carry on the good work set up by former GM Bumstead. There wasn’t that much time between him leaving and me arriving but the franchise really suffered in that period and my first task will be to sort out the mess caused by that rudderless period"
As we hit the final weeks of the 2030 season I intend, with virtually the entire 40-man roster up here in Minneapolis, to use the time as a kind of spring training exercise with the prize being the chance to remain in the Twin Cities area in 2031. Bertolameu Bolota and Jesse Howard will get a shot in the rotation while David Guttierrez will get a look at closer. Six of the position starters will be 24 or under as Monsters look to the future.

In their almost two seasons TWC have gone from 50-112 to 64-85 with 13 games of 2030 left. The young upcoming stars showcasing their skills in those last 13 games will be hoping they’ll be onboard for 2031’s bid to reach .500 in only their third ever season. Triple-A Duluth & Double-A St Joseph will be looking to reverse big slumps after the majority of their players moved up while at Rookie level Cheyenne showed the good draft moving from 109 losses in 2029 to just 69 a year later
