Same here. I signed a couple of just "popular" players solely to boost fan interest some and have stayed the same. The extremely popular ones won't sign with Madison...

Looks like it is an issue with 17 in that you don't get FI boost from signing or trading for high popularity players. You do get boots for signing players to extensions and my boosts appear to have come from offseason extensions to Robertson and Vasilyev, which would make sense on why it isn't as high as I had expected.
