Exactly this! When I took over the team, we were $30MM in the red, projected to be $50MM in the red at the end of my first season. There was some talent on the roster but it was definitely a sub-500 team.

I had two good prospects (Gil and Gonzalez) and traded away everything of value to get more (Trujillo, Basaglia, Rios, Greenwood).

That, some good draft picks and some (imho) great FA signings and I won a Landis.

Obviously there's a lot if luck here, but I built a good team and it paid off. Anyone else should be able to do this if they commit to it.

Here are the three examples:

Charm City Jimmies: The owner paid $1,689,815 of future expenses from the operating profit.
Charm City Jimmies: The owner took $13,260,112 in cash as profit for this year.
Huntsville Phantoms: Received $14,225,571 in cash from the owner.

The two examples for CC both go into bonus funds (ie. when it says... "the owner paid" or "the owner took"). The example for HSV does NOT go into bonus funds (ie. when it says... "received").

The two examples for CC are denoting operating profits over 20M cash on hand. The example with Huntsville is denoting owner benevolence (or something - haven't 100% figured it out) trying to offset operating loss.
