I don't recall any Kool Aid drinkers saying "not at all!"
But two things can be true at once.
My view is that in this case the game has been at odds with itself. I think it's probably true that (as you are saying) the draft classes have gotten better as the game attempts to replace lost talent. That said, it's also quite possible that the game had little to do with that, but that Matt toggled things up a bit to counter what he ends up feeling are incessant complaints about shitty draft classes--I literally don't know, and neither does anyone but Matt. I he did that, it's totally understandable.
I also think is it completely true that (as the Kool Aid drinkers were saying) the development engine has been working overtime to kill talent off that it's been creating. In addition, I'm also certain that v25 is a fairly harsh world for 30+ year olds.
So, what will occur in that environment?
1) A lot of players get built ready to play.
2) Older players crash more often.
3) There are suddenly a lot more slots for those young players to fill, so WAR by young players increases.
and ...
4) The development engine is making more "high risk" teenagers not develop.
All of these seem to be happening to me.
