Join Kurt Imber (San Fernando Bears) and Ron Collins (Bikini Krill) as they take a run through the BBA as it stands at the end of 2062. They look at the playoff picture, then run through each division. There’s a bit of discussion about what it means to see the league getting younger, and then brief talk about what we can expect out of v26.

That was perfect for an afternoon walk. Awesome job, Ron and Kurt, two of our best and favorite GMs/analysts/personalities!

I don't see Tingle's contract as problematic. I was thrilled he signed a two year extension and it was front loaded since I'll have cap space. However, I might not make that extension if I knew Cramer was going to explode like he did.

Not saying it was a bad deal. But at $17M he probably needs to do 5 WAR to keep it from being an over-pay. I'm going to guess his 5 WAR days might be over. We'll see, though. I could well be wrong.

More like $14M because you gotta go by AAV. I think he's still a 5 WAR player, but obviously didn't show it the past two years. I'll take 3 WAR from last season if he locks down the outfield defense.

The cap doesn't care about AAV.

While I hate that it is mostly the same old teams in the Doubleday... Fate has made this round very entertaining. Hawaii vs Nashville is textbook David VS Goliath. Team of superstars vs team of next man up. While the other 3 series have some significant rivalries behind them.

Also crazy that I said almost the same exact thing that you guys did about how free agency is going to be great in a few years. Without getting too technical, this crop of players is the aftershock of when the 2037-38? Mega draft players retired. The game was like "Whoa.. what just happened.... Must.make.new.stars".

i remember saying this was mega draft 2.0 at the time and the Kool aide drinkers were like" not at all. It just means most of these players aren't going to develop"

Not that it matters. The game is going to spit out what it spits out. We all play by the same rules. So I'm not going to argue back and forth about what needs to be done cause the answer is nothing. Just know that there will probably be another aftershock when these players retire and mega draft 3.0 should happen around 2075-78. Dicipating a little more by randomness, but still very strong. So plan your rebuild around it folks.

I don't recall any Kool Aid drinkers saying "not at all!"

But two things can be true at once.

My view is that in this case the game has been at odds with itself. I think it's probably true that (as you are saying) the draft classes have gotten better as the game attempts to replace lost talent. That said, it's also quite possible that the game had little to do with that, but that Matt toggled things up a bit to counter what he ends up feeling are incessant complaints about shitty draft classes--I literally don't know, and neither does anyone but Matt. I he did that, it's totally understandable.

I also think is it completely true that (as the Kool Aid drinkers were saying) the development engine has been working overtime to kill talent off that it's been creating. In addition, I'm also certain that v25 is a fairly harsh world for 30+ year olds.

So, what will occur in that environment?

1) A lot of players get built ready to play.
2) Older players crash more often.
3) There are suddenly a lot more slots for those young players to fill, so WAR by young players increases.

and ...

4) The development engine is making more "high risk" teenagers not develop.

All of these seem to be happening to me.
