The Tropics and River Monsters engage in a bullpen battle after both starters allowed a run through 3+ innings. Hawaii finally broke through with a two-run single by Lorenzo Holloway in the top of the 7th off River Monsters reliever Andre Gonzales.
The Trops bullpen was scoreless for 5.2 innings giving up four hits and striking out two. Reynaldo Trinidad picked up the win to improve to 5-2 with 2.2 scoreless and Bob Westbrooks gets the save with two scoreless.

Twin Cities takes a one-run win over Hawaii to even the series. The Trops managed just two runs against Jerry ‘Flounder’ Stone while the River Monsters struggled against Gheorghe Sollomovici. Sollomovici allowed two, solo homers in 5.1 innings to begin the game. Trops reliever Harry Edward gave up the game winner in the bottom of the 7th on a solo homer by Octavio Sanchez.
Lorenzo Holloway was 1 for 3 with a walk and scored a run. Julian Rivera was 2 for 3 with a double (13) and two RBI.

The Tropics bullpen surrendered a five-run lead allowing three runs in the 8th and three-more in the 9th as the River Monsters walk it off. The Trops built their lead on Jorge Dodd’s three RBI and two more added by Vicente ‘Yogi’ Martinez.
Hawaii starter Martin ‘Lumps’ Garcia a run on two hits with a walk and five Ks in 4.2 innings in a no decision. Jose Ordonez threw 1.1 scoreless innings and then the wheels fell off. Cale Cote gave up a run in 1.1 innings, Alex Garcia gave up two runs while getting just one out and finally Utkan Gocek gave up three runs in 2/3 of an inning to take the loss.

Hawaii rookie DH Vicente Martinez hits two doubles (30) and drives in five runs and Trops pitching holds up to earn the series split. Martinez was 3 for 3, walked two times and scored a run. The Trops ran wild on the basepaths five bases in five attempts with Martinez (10), Carlos Schumann (23) and Roberto Lopez (7) swiping a bag each while Vincente Mendez stole two bags (31).
Ruben bin Majid al Din set the tone for Hawaii pitchers going 4.1 innings and gave up three hits, walked one and fanned four. Jose Valle earned his 5th win and gave up a run on a hit while striking out three in two innings.
The Tropics and River Monsters split the four-game series.
