The Portland Lumberjacks front office announced today season ticketing options heading into the 2062 season. Riding three consecutive trips to the post-season and still on a high from their Brewster Title in 2059, the Lumberjacks front office is optimistic that thousands of fans will capitalize on purchasing season ticket prices at what the ownership group announced is "a steal of a price."
"Last season, we had sold over 17,000 season tickets" stated team owner David Wallace. "We hope to increase that total this season by offering fans a bargain of a price on purchasing all 81 home games in advance."
Last season, Portland's average ticket price throughout the season was in excess of $19 per game. This price grew over the course of the season as crucial games saw heightened interest and price peaked at $25 per ticket for the Lumberjacks' Doubleday Series with Sacramento. While The Trail in Multnomah was rarely packed to capacity, rising ticket prices over the season didn't deter fans as Portland saw an average of just over 46,500 fans attend each home game, filling the 55,000 seat stadium to almost 85% capacity.
"Since we added the Championship boxes in 2060, boosting our capacity another 5,000" added Wallace, "we've seen more fans and more revenue. True, we may not sell out all 81 games, but there are games we definitely exceed the old capacity of 50,000 fans and push the limit to the 55,000 max. In fact, during the Long Beach series in the Geoghegan Series a few months ago, we sold standing room seats and surpassed that 55,000 max."
The boost has certainly helped as Portland finished the 2061 season with the 6th highest attendance in the league. But the team, thanks to ticket prices and a post-season boost, brought in the 3rd highest gate revenue in the league behind only Sacramento and Nashville.
"You can't say it was all a boost from post-season" added Wallace "when you consider we were still 6th last season in season ticket sales revenue in the league. We think that's the key. Get fans to buy tickets up front and then just add on revenue after that. Honestly, we'd love it if we sold all 55,000 seats up front and were set. We know that won't happen, though I strongly encourage fans to take a strong look at this season ticket package and strongly consider buying tickets up front. I can promise you, ticket prices will go up when April rolls around and season ticket sales have concluded."
It appears what Wallace is stating is true. While the team finished last season with the average ticket price being $19.31 over the season, the average season ticket, which goes on sale soon, is reported to cost an average of just $17 per ticket.
"Two dollars may not seem like much" added in assistant GM and team promoter Sandy Mounds. "But when you multiply that over the course of an 81 home game season, you're looking at savings of close to $200 over the course of a season. Assuming most fans buy season tickets in pairs or multiples, you're getting a good bargain. Not to mention the perks that come with being a season ticket holder. Our hope is to reach and exceed 20,000 in season ticket sales this season" concluded Mounds.
As to what the perks are of being a season ticket member, Wallace and Mounds stated those haven't been released yet. But noted fans will be excited and will enjoy whatever those perks are when announced.
