The Hawaii Tropics survived an error by 2B Na’il bin Hakim that cost the team three unearned runs to get a win. Semih Gurani pitched 5.2 innings allowing the three unearned runs on five hits and a couple of walks. He struck out just one batter as he picks up his 6th win. The Teddy Bear pitched 2/3 of an inning with a K to get the save.
Rookie Eric Owens was 1 for 4 hitting his 14th homer of the season with a two-run blast in the 3rd inning. John Harris was 2 for 3, scored a run and had an RBI. Jeff Appleton was 2 for 4 with a double (15), an RBI and scored a run.

Hawaii starter Gerardo Rea went four innings allowing two runs on four hits and a walk then leaned on his bullpen to hold off the Bears to go up 2-0 in the series.
Topan Adheng earned his 4th win after pitching 2.2 scoreless innings giving up a hit with a K. Utkan Gocek picked up his 17th save with a clean 1.2 innings and a K.
On offense, Eric Owens added another homer with his 15th of the season on a three-run shot in the 5th. John Harris was 2 for 4 and cranked his 21st homer in the 3rd inning. Vincente Mendez was 1 for 3 with a solo homer (10) in the 2nd inning.

The San Fernando Bears stun the Tropics faithful with a run scoring double in the top of the 9th to take a narrow one-run lead over Hawaii. Bryan Longstaff jogged into the game in the bottom of the inning and shut down the Trops to earn his 39th save of the season for the Bears.
Troy Reynolds took his 9th loss allowing the game winning run in two innings of work. Jose Ordonez made the start going 3.1 innings allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three.
Eric Owens hit yet another homer with a solo variety in the 1st inning for #16. Na’il bin Hakim was 1 for 3 with an RBI double (6).

The Bears clawed the Tropics pitching staff turning the series finale into a laugher. Trops starter allowed six runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings while he fanned six batters. He falls to 9-9 on the season.
Eric Owens stays hot with his 4th homer of the series. He hit a solo homer (17) in the 4th inning. Angelo Lucchesi was 1 for 4 with an RBI.
The Tropics and Bears split the four-game series.
