"Please, just let June end..." Such was the plea from your humble beat writer after Sim #13. But fortunately he doesn't actually play the game as there were 4 days left and the Spuds were about to take 3 of them to ease the sting before filing the month away. Sim #14 (recap) had a variety of game types for just a 6-game Sim which points to good performances sprinkled throughout. The offense put up 4.8 runs/game which is more likely. It's not even worth mentioning how miserable the Spuds were at the plate in June. Boise surrendered 3.3 per which is much more like it.[/url]

CL Mario Santos
25 G, 2-5, 11 SV, 4.82 ERA, 28.0 IP, 1.57 WHIP, +0.1 WAR
There were some stellar starts from the staff in Sim #14. SP Muneer bin Khairy, having stepped back into a starting role pending the return of Nickerson, was more than solid against Rockville on the 30th going 6.0 innings striking out 5 and allowing just one run, SP Mario Reyes held Atlantic City scoreless over 6 giving up just 4 hits, and P Buddhapalita Kankpati held the Pikemen to 1 run over 5 innings fanning 7. But Santos does what a closer is supposed to do: close games. He was handed 4 save opportunities and converted all 4. He allowed no runs and scattered a couple of hits. Just like they draw it up...

Batter

2B Damodaragoun Neela
35 G, 7 2B, 4 HR, 12 RBI, .236/.329/.500, 1 SB, 0.0 WAR
Seriously, who is this guy?! Actually, who is C Tadanobu Otani, too? Otani slashed .417/.500/.417 with 3 RBI in Sim #14 to continue his solid rookie season. Relatively old-man 1B Pedro 'Pocket Rocket' Hozven provided some reason to the Sim delivered 1 double and 2 homeruns driving in 3 runs slashing .364/.417/1.000 SLG. But Neela? All he did was slash .417/.462/1.000 with 4 doubles, 1 HR, and a whopping 5 RBI.
