The Stars finished August with a 13-14 record and still remain 4 games under .500 for the year with only a few weeks to play...The best month the Stars had was in June when they went 15-13 but the rest of the year has been pretty much like August....

The Stars brought up some players to check out as the rosters expanded in September...Not much impact from this group of rookies so far except 25 year old outfielder Roberto García took his call up as a last chance effort to show the team he should be on this roster...In the first week Garcia had a great week...In his first 17 at bats he had 8 hits, 4 doubles, 1 triple and 1 homerun....Garica also drove in 6 runs...Garcia never really had a great minor league year until this season...The 25 year old hit .257 but had 34 doubles, 4 triples and 24 homers...Garica drove in 83 runs and stole 27 bases....Good enough for the Stars to check him out this September....

MR/SP Michael Cosme over the last 22 games has a low 1.16 era...Over that time he is 3-1 with one save...So far this season Cosme is 4-4 4.27 era in 33 games which he has started 8 games so far....

Another call up SP Darryl Otterson in 4 games last month posted a 2.16 era...In 8 innings he has 7 k's and has not walked a batter...Otterson in AAA this season went 13-10 3.93 era...Otterson 30 years old is playing for the first time in his career up on the ML roster....
