The Walkoff Watch Terminology

Balkoff - When a pitcher balks in the winning run.

Derpoff - When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.

200-proof walkoff - When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.

Buntoff When the team bunts in the walkoff run.

Pimpoff - When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

Bunt-Pimpoff A pimpoff, but when the batter successfully bunts home the walkoff run.

Player & Team Highlights Sim #14
June 30th-July 6th

In this backend of the All Star break we only have sixteen games on the slate but obviously the bullpens enjoyed the break too much as they allowed four walkoffs in those 16 games, three of them in extra innings.

Outcomes

First day back, on July 3rd, Bucharest host Manama and need two runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at four after the Pearls had scored four in the first innings. The game goes on to the 11th innings and Manama has Alistair Grieves on the mound. Things don’t go well for Grieves as a single, a walk and a successful bunt leaves him with runners at second and third with just the one man out. Primio Anastcia strode to the batter’s box and after taking two balls he rocketed the third pitch high over the rightfield wall travelling 409 ft. The three-run bomb gave Anastcia his second walkoff shot and Bucharest their fourth success.
The same day Cairo goes to Beirut, a five-run eighth innings sees the Chariot Archers surge ahead 7-5. The Cedars fight back though and level it up in the bottom of the eighth. Beirut kept the top half of the ninth clean and went to work in the bottom half. Caleb Benavides was on the mound and he surrendered a triple to the first Beirut batter. Oliver Ruiz was the next man into the box and with the third pitch he is able to get the ball out to centre deep enough to allow the runner at third to scoot home and win the game. The Cedars get their first 200 proof walkoff of 2041.
On the 4th July walkoff specialists Istanbul travelled to Jerusalem and were caught at their own game. With both teams twice scoring three runs in an innings the game arrived at the ninth tied at eight. Istanbul scored in the top of the innings but the Hebrew Hammers scrambled the tying run in the bottom half thanks to three singles. The top of the 10th saw the Bosphorus use a triple & single to once more go ahead. Jose Espinoza was the first to try to convert the save for Istanbul but he gave up a solo homer and blew the save. He managed to load the bases after that and Ismael Rivera had to come into a bases loaded jam. He blew the game and produced the season’s second Derpoff when he hit Youp Lenoir with his third pitch.
The final walkoff of this shortened week was on July 6th when Istanbul, on their travels again, were at Bucharest. The Impalers scored five in the first two innings and were 6-2 up after four innings. Three singles and two doubles in the top of the fifth allowed the Bosphorus to take the lead by putting up a five spot. Bucharest tied the game at seven in the seventh innings and we went to extras. Bottom of the 10th, still 7-7, Bras Gesteiras was on the mound for his second innings of work. It didn’t go well though and he failed to get an out. He walked the first batter, gave the second a double and finally allowed the third batter, Jeffrey Cunningham to hit his pitch past first while the runner on third jogged home. The second walkoff by both Cunningham & Gesteiras

Very interesting recurring feature Nigel. Considering how close the Bancroft is in the wild card race, these walkoffs are the deciding factors in the race.
