Batter of the Month

Bopper Kengos
Last year's Sawyer Silk Award winner in the Johnson League is making a serious run for his 2nd straight award. In July, Kengos produced 8 homeruns, 22 RBI, and hit .318/.345/.636. He led the team in HRs, RBI, and OPS. On the year, the young slugger is batting .330/.375/.585 with 31 homeruns and 104 RBI. If the season ended today, it would be an extremely tight Silk Award vote between Bopper, Kengos' teammate Charles Puckett and the injured Douglass Newhouse.
Pitcher of the Month

Justin Marco
The Wolves won 19 games in the month of July, and Justin Marco managed to record a save in 13 of those 19 contests. In July, Marco did not receive a win nor loss, but did record 13 saves in 15 outings. He logged 15 innings, allowed 14 hits and 4 walks while striking out 17. He is 5 saves away from matching his career high in saves and he currently leads all JL closers in saves with 39 on the year.
Unfortunately, the monthly stat pages have not been updated since July 1 so I will not be able to list my minor league players of the month....
