Moreno Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis:
Birmingham Bandits' third baseman, Diego Moreno, had been feeling under the weather for some time. His legs tingled, his arms ached, and at times his vision blurred and he had trouble seeing the ball. After encouragement from his wife, Moreno went to see a doctor, who sent him to get an MRI done. The scan showed plaque located on Moreno's spine. The diagnosis: MS. "I had a feeling something was up, and I'm glad I saw a doctor when I did. I hope to play through this and stop when the doc tells me to."

Moreno has seen his error percentage increase and his OBP fall over the last month, and the slump may be attributed to his disease. Birmingham Bandits owner, Walter Sobchak, held a press conference yesterday to confirm the team's dedication to Moreno. "We in the Birmingham Bandits Front Office will work to see Diego through this tough time and hope he can stick with us as long as possible."

JL Best Manager is Grandage of the Blazers:
The Montreal Blazers had an outstanding season, much of it due to their astute and gifted skipper. For his managerial excellence, Kayne Grandage reaped the reward of being voted Johnson League Manager of the Year.

"A manager is only as good as the players he's managing," Grandage told reporters. "If I didn't have the talent to work with, making all the right moves wouldn't have helped a bit."

Under Grandage the Blazers finished second in the Johnson League Atlantic Division with a record of 91-71.

Surfers Pilot Light Picked as FL's Best:
The Long Beach Surfers coaching staff broke out the bubbly when Manager Anthony Light was announced as 2029 Frick League Manager of the Year.

He skippered the Surfers to a 95-68 record this year and a first place finish in the Frick League Pacific Division.

To a man, they all agreed that their boss was most deserving of the award. All had glowing words to say about this year's winning manager.
