Red Robins Bobbing 2024-15 (year high 17 wins in Aug)

After opening August with three straight defeats the Robins went on their second big tear of the season winning 13 of their next 16 games as they blasted themselves back into the Atlantic Division pennant race. Winning a season high 17 games in August while only losing 12 saw Robins finish the month just a half game back of Halifax with a 74-62 record. The one-run game record also improved as Brooklyn won six of the nine close games in the month and they also won six series as for the first time the Robins had a realistic chance of winning their third straight pennant.

Sam Adams firmly established himself as the Robins #1 catcher in Benjamin O'Rorke's absence as he hit .324, leading all the team's starters. Albert Shoemaker flexed his muscles in sending 10 balls into the crowd driving in 21 runs, an RBI total only matched by Jose Escarceja and bettered by Rob Childers who led the team with 22 RBI. Brooklyn were as active on the base paths as always with Orlando Medrano, Shoemaker and Davis Locke stealing 18 bases in 24 attempts between them. Victor Talboom's timing was off as he was picked off on five of his six stealing attempts but he still scored 15 times in the month including four homers and driving 10 runs in.

Mario Mendez and Fernando Moran both recorded four wins in their six starts in August and Joey Budding didn't get tagged with a single loss in his six starts but only recorded two wins. Skip Glendenning once more proved his worth to the team making 12 appearances and for the second month running he only surrendered one run as he recorded a win and eight saves while posting a 0.57 ERA and a 0.38 WHIP after walking just one batter.
