Washington Watch 2014 Volume 2: April

Post by Manny » Wed Jan 22, 2014 11:13 am

May 1, 2014 by Vance Manvel - Well normally the Bobwhites give their fans false hope in April but this year they let everyone know early that they will suck once again by going 13-15. Yes that ties them for the division lead but we all know that the Bobbies will plummett well below that. They have allowed the most runs in the JL and have the worst bullpen to go with that (Chad Jordan oh how we miss you already). And despite playing in a hitter's haven like Presidential Ball Park is the team is next to last in homeruns in the JL. Sorry Bobbie fans, looks like another long year.

Washington Bobwhite Pitcher of the Month: Richard Mazzola

Finally someone other than Chris Pump Jr. wins this award. Mazzola didn't have a great April but compared to the rest of the hurlers on this staff he looked untouchable. Mazzola went 3-2 in 6 starts and let's just leave it at that, his other stats aren't even really worth mentioning but he did keep his ERA under 4 which most people on the BObwhite's staff can't say.

Bobwhite Bopper of the month: Han Witter

Washington's Third Baseman had a very nice start to the season batting .387 and slugging .602. He leads the team with 24 RBI and 1.022 OPS. Hopefully he can keep it up

Is Pump due for his first full contract this year? If so, have you thought about offloading him for a shitton of prospects? Always curious as to rebuilding strategies;)

Yeah it's time to give him an extension although I still have 2 arbitration years left. I haven't decided if I'm willing to trade him away, he's still young and I'd need quite a haul to consider letting him go
