Boise Spuds 40 55 .421 DIV -21 WC - L10: 4-6 Strk: L5

The scales of the baseball gods required a balancing after Boise's 5-1 Sim to wrap up the first half of the season, so we get an 0-5 week. They were close games and on the road but it's still a gut-punch. The Spuds suffered a very scary sweep at the hands of Cape Fear, with two of those being 2-3 finals, and lost the first game of a 4-game set in Atlantic City.

@ Cape Fear 2-3 L P Buddhapalita Kankipati (L) - 25 G, 8 GS, 3-5, 1 SV, 4.73 ERA, 2.4 K/BB, 1.14 WHIP, -0.3 WAR
@ Cape Fear 6-9 L SP Thomas Turner (ND) - 18 G, 18 GS, 4-8, 4.73 ERA, 2.6 K/BB, 1.17 WHIP, +1.2 WAR
@ Cape Fear 2-3 L SP Josh Clark (ND) - 18 G, 18 GS, 3.15 ERA, 3.5 K/BB, 1.17 WHIP, +2.0 WAR
@ Cape Fear 2-7 L SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan (L) - 20 G, 20 GS, 8-9, 3.52 ERA, 1.5 K/BB, 1.24 WHIP, +1.2 WAR
Kankipati was not bad in the opener allowing 3 runs in 5 innings with 5 K's and just 1 walk, but Cape Fear SP Micah Harrington was just that much better covering 7 innings allowing just 2 runs. In the second game the Spuds held a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the 8th when the bottom fell out. P Alfredo Morán gave up 4 runs in 0.2 innings collecting not only a loss but his 2nd blown save of the year. The heart of Cape Fear's lineup was 13-20 with 5 RBI. The third game was a thrilling walkoff on the head of CL Mario Santos. The closer left a 0-1 slider hanging and Swamp Foxes Juan Hernández deposited the winning run into the left field bleachers. Josh Clark recorded an excellent start allowing just 2 runs in 7 innings. 'Furball' Einan followed Clark's lead in booking a quality start allowing only 3 runs in 6.2 innings but the game blew up in the face of Máximo Rivera who allowed 3 runs without recording an out. Swamp Foxes 1B Tariel 'Livewire' Bogolyubski went 2-4 with a double and HR.

@ Atlantic City 5-6 L Kankipati (ND)
The theme of blowing solid starts continued into the next series as Kankipati allowed just 3 runs in 5 innings. Boise P Cornelio 'Deathblow' Martínez suffered a blown save allowing the losing run after having been handed a 4-3 lead.
