Boise had their first winning Sim since #8 going 4-3. A postseason bid is, of course, long off the table so the Spuds are playing for pride and the development of youngsters. Boise wrapped up being swept by Atlantic City in the first game of the Sim and split the first two of a series in Charlotte. In between, the Spuds took 3 of 4 at home vs New Orleans.
v Atlantic City 2-9 L SP Dan Boman (L) - 14 G, 14 GS, 5-7, 5.29 ERA, 78.1 IP, 2.0 K/BB, 1.53 WHIP, +0.6 WAR
Boise entered Sim #11 having dropped the first 3 games of a 4-game set vs Atlantic City. The Gamblers were just too much as they completed a sweep of the Spuds. The game got away from Boise in late innings with Boman allowing 4 runs in the 6th and CL Mario Santos giving up 3 unearned in the final frame. Gamblers SP Brian 'Prince' Whitford and reliever Bob Johnson combined to stifle Boise while LF Wilson Prieto led the offensive charge going 3-5 and scoring twice.
v New Orleans Crawdads 0-4 L SP Thomas Turner (L) - 14 G, 14 GS, 4-7, 4.41 ERA, 85.2 IP, 2.6 K/BB, 1.12 WHIP, +1.2 WAR
v New Orleans Crawdads 7-5 W [url=https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 70273.html]SP Felipe Ledesma (ND) - 5 G, 4 GS, 1-1, 4.18 ERA, 23.2 IP, 1.5 K/BB, 1.52 WHIP, +0.3 WAR

v New Orleans Crawdads 6-1 W SP Mahad 'Furball' Einan (W) - 15 G, 15 GS, 6-7, 3.78 ERA, 88.0 IP, 1.3 K/BB, 1.28 WHIP, +0.7 WAR
v New Orleans Crawdads 1-0 W P Buddhapalita Kankipati (W) - 20 G, 3 GS, 2-3, 1 SV, 4.84 ERA, 35.1 IP, 2.0 K/BB, 1.10 WHIP, -0.1 WAR
Santos (SV-9)
Coming off the sweep at the hands of Atlantic City the Spuds set their sights on getting something positive out of the long homestand. The quest didn't get off to a promising start getting blanked by New Orleans. Crawdads SP Leland 'Griz' Rogers was stellar tossing 8.1 innings of shutout ball. Turning had a good start and a solid outing allowing 4 runs on as many hits in 8 innings but it wasn't enough. Crawdads 2B Ma'n bin Fawzi drove in all 4 of New Orleans' runs. Having lost 5 straight Boise put the 2nd game of the series to bed early with a 5-run outburst in the 1st inning while pitching scattered 5 runs across 8 innings. The 3rd game was all about 'Furball'. He went the distance allowing just 1 run on 4 hits though he did walk four. 1B Tracy 'Jigga' Allison went 2-4 with 2-run HR...his only hits of the Sim. The finale was a superb pitching duel with Buddha, Tariku Jabiri, and Santos combining to shutout the Crawdads. The Spuds could only manage one run off SP Ed Smith as he went the distance surrendering only 3 hits while striking out 7.
@ Charlotte Flyers 5-6 L Boman (ND)
Santos - (BS-2)
@ Charlotte Flyers 7-6 W Turner (ND)
Santos - (SV-10)
The first two games of a series in Charlotte were all about Santos - for good and for bad. Mario was handed a 1-run lead in the 9th inning of the opener and surrendered the walkoff runs on a 2-RBI single from Crawdads RF José 'Toothbreaker' Vargas. Third baseman Bill Kuhn and rookie 1B William Coleman each had 2 RBI. Turner had a rough outing in the 2nd game allowing 6 runs in just 4.1 innings, but the offense covered for him with RF Tsutomu Yamauchi going 3-4, LF Cosmo Pan 4-for-5, and Kuhn collecting 3 RBI. Santos ushered out the victory after Boise scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 9th.
