The Spuds just could not rise to the moment in Sim #6 (recap) as they lost a series v Calgary and suffered a sweep at the hands of Las Vegas, and dropped the finale of a 3-game set vs Mexico City for good measure. Offensive production in the Sim is skewed by a 14-2 victory over Calgary in the finale of that series, but 4.1 runs/game is still respectable. Pitching wasn't terrible at 4.3 r/g which highlights the fact that the offense just could not get anything going against Pioneers and Hustlers pitchers.
SPUDS OF THE SIM - SIM #6
Pitcher

P Juan Guzmán
10 G, 0-1, 5.64 ERA, 22.1 IP, 1.7 K/BB, 1.48 WHIP, -0.0 WAR
SP Josh Clark had yet another outstanding start throttling Calgary hitters while the offense produced in a 14-2 victory. SP 'Furball' Einan had a quality outing against Vegas allowing just 3 runs in 7 innings in a close Boise loss. CL Mario Santos wasn't needed for his closing skills in Sim #6 but he was called on twice and struck out 4 in 3 innings of work. But Guzmán gets the nod as he finally has a decent outing...perhaps his first of the year. He appeared in 2 games logging 6 innings allowing just 2 hits and no runs while fanning 3.
Hitter

C Tadanobu Otani
32 G, 11 2B, 4 HR, 20 RBI, .300/.361/.492, +1.0 WAR
Otani was tabbed as the JL Player of the Week and who are we to argue? The backstop slashed .588/.632/1.059 with 2 doubles, 2 homeruns, and 6 RBI. 1B William Coleman is beginning to get his feet underneath him at the ML level as he turned in 7 RBI on 1 double and 3 HRs while slashing .333/.368/.889. SS Dan Raymond was the only Spud with quality production in Sim #6 posted 2 doubles and 3 RBI.
